The Discovery Institute, Smarter than Harvard.

An observant molecular scientist in training noticed that the Discovery Institute copied a great Harvard BioVision video on how a cell works, and replaced the scientific narration with their own narration to prop up their Intelligent Design argument.

Harvard/XVIVOs narration, all of the science, is whisked away and replaced with a ’surrealistic lilliputian realm’– ‘robots’, ‘manufacturing’, ‘circuitry’, ‘nano moters’, ‘UPS labels’. Maybe they think it is ‘okay’ because they turned all of Harvard’s science into ‘MAGIC!’

He called it plagiarism. Possibly because he is in academia. What the Discovery Institute did was not simply fail to attribute a source, they stole someone else’s work, copied it, used it to make derivative works, and palmed this off as their own. In addition to this outright theft , they also committed a moral wrong by using the work in a way counter to its original intent.

The bog author who made this discovery also correctly pointed out that many of the fellows and others involved with the Discovery Instititute have law degrees, so I am sure someone at this fringe organization should have known better.

Both versions are below the fold. The fact that they are both sitting on Youtube is a separate and disturbing violation of copyrights (it looks like the person who posted the original is in Taiwan http://www.TaiwanUNMe.tw).
