The legislation would amend the Digital Millennium Copyright Act so that teachers, libraries and certain individuals could circumvent DRM locks. Calling the fair use rights of consumers of digital media “severely threatened,” two congressmen on Tuesday introduced the Freedom And Innovation Revitalizing U.S. Entrepreneurship Act of 2007 (FAIR USE Act) to restore balance to copyright law.
At least at least one blogger seems to think that this is Rep. Boucher’s fix to the fallout of the Grokster decision.
