Privacy Counsel – Mountain View
Google is searching for an attorney with at least 5 years experience in data privacy and information security, with a particular emphasis on the Internet sector, to serve as Privacy Counsel based in the United States. We are looking for attorneys with the confidence and experience to drive the company’s efforts to enhance its policies and processes around privacy and data security. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to handle novel issues of law and technology and, in turn, to communicate those issues to business leaders, regulators, privacy advocates and the public in the US and other countries. This position demands an individual capable of producing high quality work in a flexible, fast paced environment.
While I served as one of the first ever Chief Privacy Officers for a online company that collected tons of information, helping to legitimize the need for the role, designed their product to have multiple levels of opt-out, the first of its kind, and helped form the Online Privacy Alliance- I don ‘t graduate for a few months. I doubt that they will hold the position open for 5 years while I get the experience they are looking for. Oh well, dream jobs come around all the time, don’t they?
